Her Excellency Dr Hissa Abdullah Ahmed Al Otaiba is Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Kingdom of Spain since 2008, and non-resident Ambassador to the Vatican and the Principality of Andorra since 2010.

2010: Delivered a lecture entitled: ¨The Emirate Woman and the approach of the Father and Leader, His Highness Sheikh Zayed, rest in peace, and the Guidelines of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, President of the United Arab Emirates, in collaboration with the European Institute for Arab Education and Training in Granada, which was attended by academics, cultural personalities, media, and the local press of the province of Granada.
2010: Signature of the Treaty on Extradition and Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Spain.

2011: The new "Gema Solar" solar power station was inaugurated in Seville, with the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and His Majesty King Juan Carlos of Spain.

2012 - Signature of an agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Spain to exempt holders of official passports from applying for an entry visa.

2014: Agreement signed between the Foundation ¨Annual Awards of Sheikh Zayed´s Book Foundation¨ and Casa Árabe, as sponsor of the award in the Kingdom of Spain.
2014 - Inauguration of the Health-Military Office in Barcelona, in coordination with the Military Attaché Office, to attend to Emirate patients.
2015 - Memorandum of Understanding for the creation of a Parliamentary Committee of Friendship between the Federal National Council and the Spanish Senate.
2015: Agreement for the Prevention of Double Taxation on income and protection of investments between the United Arab Emirates and the Government of Andorra.
2015: A memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of Halal accreditation between the Emirates Standardization Authority and the Emirate of Andorra.
2016 - Memorandum of understanding between the Emirates Standardization and Metrology Authority and the Spanish Accreditation Authority, for cooperation in the field of Halal accreditation.
2016 - Coordination with UAE religious bodies, which resulted in the creation of the Habices Foundation in Madrid, under the Habices and Islamic Affairs Authority in the United Arab Emirates, in order to address Islamic Religious Affairs in the Kingdom of Spain.
2016 - Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Vatican State on mutual exemption of entry visas between the two countries.
2017 - Participation in the International Christmas Exhibition for Cultures, in collaboration with the Municipality of Madrid, together with Sheikha Al Yazya Bint Nahyan Bint Mubarak Al Nahyan, in the field of Cinema and Fine Arts, where the screening of the Velo film took place.
